Professional development has to be meaningful. It has to matter. It has to be doable. Above all, it has to impact kids’ learning. Because so much of what we do as teachers is a reflection of who we are and what we believe, good professional development is also good personal development. When teachers and leaders see their part in a common, doable purpose that really matters for their kids, the opportunities for improvement are vast.
